After 3 months, I was done wasting money, I decided then and there I was so done with all these weight loss systems that claim to work miracles and canceled my membership or so I thought I was.
Later that night I was sitting at my kitchen table on the phone with my sister-in-law Jessica complaining to her about how this weight loss system hadn’t helped me, I wasted so much money and how I felt like I should just give up because I was never going to lose weight. She told me about a friend of hers that was doing this meal replacement shake system that was helping her lose a ton of weight she didn’t know much more about it or if the woman was doing anything else to help her lose weight so I asked her if she could get me some information on it because I would like to look into trying it. The next day she introduced me through Facebook messenger to the woman who was using these shakes we talked about how she had already lost 50 pounds and she was so happy with it, that she was now selling it. She gives me her pitch and I almost had a heart attack when I first heard the cost. I mean after having just spent months of paying for the packaged meals that didn’t help there was no way I wanted to pay so much money for some meal replacement shakes especially since we were planning and saving for our wedding.
I really wanted to try these shakes since they were supposedly working for this lady but I just couldn’t justify spending $350 bucks on a one-month supply of a meal replacement shake, that might not even work for me. I decided to go on my computer to look for a comparable product that might be cheaper. Eventually, I did find one that was similar at a cheaper price so for 3 months before my wedding I decided to try these shakes. At one point I was so desperate to lose weight before my wedding that I even went a whole month of only drinking these shakes and I did manage to lose 10 pounds before my wedding. The problem with drinking these shakes was I would feel full for a little while but then a couple of hours later I was hungry again not to mention the fact that I never felt well, I never had any energy and I was always tired. After my wedding, I decided I would only drink the shakes twice a day because I really missed eating food and I thought it might help me to feel full for longer periods of time instead of drinking a shake every 3 hours. Unfortunately, as soon as I started eating food again along with the shakes I just gained the weight right back, plus some which just caused me to lose hope all over again, and I quit drinking those shakes.
Thinking about it now I wonder if it was those shakes and prepackaged foods that caused my sugar levels to rise to such high levels. Think about it for a second, The one thing these diets have in common is that they follow the guidelines from the Standard American Diet, right? Looking at the ingredients for the shakes and some of the foods I was given on the packaged food plan I can’t believe how much sugar and carbs are in there. Not to mention all the artificial garbage, I can’t believe I didn’t get more health problems other than high sugar levels.
